Inspiring Rites

This weekend, a wedding and a funeral at the same time. I went to one and husband Bob went to the other, each of us carrying the good wishes of the other spouse.

The friend who got married is 65. The friend who died was 44.

I took a lesson from this. Two, in fact. One: it's never too late. Two: don't delay.

Wow, Peggy. There's a short story in there somewhere. Very poignant.

It is poignant. And I hadn't even realized the ironic juxtaposition of ages until this morning...two days later.

I agree! Time is way too precious to waste, I know this because I'm one of the many people who struggle with an illness that can take away my life at any time. My goal: Live life happy no matter what it takes. My motto: Time waits for no one.

By the way thanks for visiting my blog and I'm sure to be a frequent visitor here. I aspire to be a romance novelist and working on it everyday.

Always,
Kate

You have an important perspective, Kate, though likely one you wouldn't choose.

About your blog-- I like your evocation of fairies: "heartbeats within light flickers."

You sure packed a lot in a short post, Peggy. Your keen observations provided inspiration for my own post today. Thank you.

Powerful post! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Brenda. This is an example of the writer not knowing when something will be particularly well-received. I'm so often surprised by how much or how little attention my various efforts receive. So my strategy--also that of Henry James, among others--is to just keep producing.
