The Puppy Portrait

The puppy-in-the-garden-with-Bob portrait is a tradition at my house. I've taken a picture of Bob holding each subsequent pup, but we waited too late to shoot this one.

Aura at 5-ish months weighs about 75 pounds. She may look uncomfortable, but she was fine. Bob, on the other hand, says he's not hoisting any more dogs this size.

Aura will weigh in at about 140 when she's grown. It takes a bold dog person to take on a dog this size. And he already has another mastiff type dog who outweighs me. It's a team of canine Clydesdales.

That is such a great photo! Aura is growing so fast! She is beautiful, Peggy! Micah is also on his way to being a big boy. At four months, he weighs in at about forty pounds and his feet are enormous. Mark brings him to doggy daycare a couple of times a week because he is very active and needs the playtime. They have moved him from the puppy room to the big dog room and he loves playing with dogs that are three times his size.

"A canine team of Clydesdales"! I love that! And yes, it does take a bold dog person to take on a dog that size. But the payoff can be wonderful!

I'll be Micah was delighted to graduate to big dog school. These big dogs seem to know that they're big even before they get that way.

I'd like Aura to stay puppy-faced a little longer. She's so excited to get up in the morning she practically hyper-ventilates.
