In the meantime, my office partner Carrie was working busily in the next room, as she had been since early morning. Here's the clincher, she'd traveled 40 hours to get back from South Africa yesterday, arriving less than two hours before doing an evening reading at a bookstore. Well, one hopes she'll crash tonight.
Maybe I was doing compensatory sleeping on her behalf. Generous of me.
I tell myself as others also tell me: must have needed my sleep.

You are reminding me of the time my husband got a massage at the Hillsborough Street YMCA and fell asleep for 3 hours; missing dinner and the arrival of my parents for a 1 week visit.
Please take a nap for me this afternoon. I have a hellish schedule. Perhaps there is a way
your sleep outcomes (ie renewed energy) could be sent to those in need. Cheers!
I just hope he didn't sleep through the massage,Kenju.
On your behalf, Anon, I slept until 11 o'clock this morning, after working until after two am to make up what I didn't do during yesterday's nap.
I trust you're feeling invigorated. It would be stretching a bit to say that I am.
